Man Pleads Guilty to Receipt of Child Pornography

34-year old Eric Shawn Garcia of Jacksonville pled guilty in U.S. District Court to a charge of receipt of child pornography.
He was arrested at his home in December after being indicted by a federal grand jury.
According to court documents, Garcia used a credit card to purchase a membership to a child pornography web site, then downloaded images and videos of child porn over the internet to his computer.

JACKSONVILLE, FL --



A subsequent forensic analysis of his computer conducted by the FBI revealed over 200 images and about 300 videos depicting child pornography.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.

At sentencing, Garcia will face 5 to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
