City man faces child pornography charges

A man who now lives in Baltimore has been charged with possessing and distributing child pornography after a year-long investigation by Maryland State Police that centered on his then-home in Baltimore County, according to authorities.

The suspect, Jeffrey G.A. Stimson, 22, of the 700 block of S. Potomac St., faces charges of two counts of distributing and one count of possessing child pornography. He was released yesterday from the Baltimore County Detention Center on $75,000 bail, court records say.

Police said in a statement that troopers began their investigation in 2007 when members of the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force logged onto a network offering videos of children.

"Troopers were able to trace the computer back to Stimson," police said in a statement. In August last year, police said they raided Stimson's residence in the 2900 block of Freeway in Halethorpe and seized the computer.
