A technology specialist at a Houston middle school has been charged with two counts of possessing child pornography, the state attorney general's office announced today.
Richard Garret Hulbert, 56, was arrested at his Houston home Tuesday after investigators received tips that he might be sharing pornographic images of children online, according to Attorney General Greg Abbott's office.

The tips came via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said Lauri Saathoff, a spokeswoman for Abbott's office.

Investigators have confiscated computers at Hulbert's home and are looking into whether any crimes were committed while he was on the job at the 1,400-student campus, Saathoff said.

"As far as whether the (alleged) activity was going on at work, it's still under investigation," she said.

School district spokesman Terry Abbott said Hulbert will be suspended from the west Houston school, pending the outcome of an investigation. The district is closed for spring break this week.
