A longtime civic leader in Yamhill County faces child pornography charges.
Police said 54-year-old Robert Smiley is accused of downloading, storing and viewing child pornography on computers at his McMinnville home and Dundee business, Wine Country Woodcraft.
He has run for city council, assisted with school bond campaign efforts and been honored for his record of community service.
Smiley was arrested Thursday and charged with 10 felony counts of second-degree encouragement of child sexual abuse. He is free on bail.
