A 62-year-old Baltimore County man pleaded guilty in federal court yesterday to distributing child pornography after getting caught in an undercover police sting on the Internet, the Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office said.
William Lee Burdette Jr., of the 200 block of High Meadow Road in
Reisterstown, faces up to 20 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release when he is sentenced on June 20.
Prosecutors say that, starting in August 2005, Burdette corresponded by e-mail with Carroll County Sheriff Cpl. Bradley Brown using AOL instant messages. Brown was pretending to be a young girl and received a response from a man with a sexually explicit screenname.
Prosecutors said one showed a nude girl identified as a Belgian resident who was engaging in a sex act with an older man and the other was of a partially nude girl lying face down.
Prosecutors said the man transmitted nine additional images to the undercover officer.
